A Malaysian woman's claim of a near-kidnapping attempt near a Johor Bahru mall has sparked public concern and a police investigation. While the woman asserts that she filed a report, local police deny receiving any such claims. This incident follows a similar report from another Malaysian woman who alleges being targeted by a possible 'hypnotist gang' at Genting Highlands, further raising questions about public safety and the potential for such incidents.

A Malaysia n woman named Ho, who recently claimed to have been nearly kidnapped near a mall in Johor Bahru , said she filed a police report. However, local police stated that they have not received any reports concerning Ho's allegations. Ho recounted her ordeal, saying that while shopping alone near KSL City Mall, a man and woman approached her, attempting to sell their products. According to Ho, the woman then produced a container filled with 'tea leaves' and asked her to smell it.

During this interaction, the woman allegedly grabbed Ho's handbag while the man held onto her, asserting that she was his wife and needed to go home with him. Ho vehemently denied these claims, shouting that she didn't know him and wasn't his wife. The duo allegedly pushed Ho to the ground, causing her to hit her head. She was hospitalized for three days following the injury, experiencing weakness and dizziness after waking up. She said the doctor informed her that she smelled something similar to an anaesthetic. Ho urged viewers to be cautious of their surroundings, particularly in crowded areas and when alone, warning against accepting anything from strangers, including food or scents. She expressed gratitude for passersby who intervened, stating that without their help, she may not have returned home to her child. In a statement on Tuesday (January 21), Raub Selamat, the Johor Bahru Selatan police chief, stated that they had not received any reports related to Ho's accusations. He emphasized that the police are actively working to identify the individuals involved, as well as witnesses, and are investigating the incident's actual cause. Raub also advised the public against sharing the video on social media to prevent misunderstandings or speculation that could disrupt societal harmony. This incident follows a similar case where another Malaysian woman, Fandy Kan, claimed to have been targeted by a possible 'hypnotist gang' at Genting Highlands. Kan shared her experience on Xiaohongshu, explaining how a woman carrying a child approached her father. The woman, who smelled faintly of jasmine, allegedly asked Kan's father to buy some dough fritters for her child, to which he 'instinctively' agreed. This behavior was particularly concerning to Kan as she knew her father was frugal and would not usually acquiesce to such requests, especially from a stranger. Kan stated that her father seemed to be in a trance-like state and only 'suddenly sobered up' when she tapped him on the shoulder and pulled him away. Resorts World Genting responded to Kan's post, stating that they would be investigating the incident
