PORT MORESBY – India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged support for the Pacific Islands at a summit in Papua New Guinea on Monday, with the US Secretary of State scheduled to also meet Pacific leaders and signWashington and its allies are seeking to deter Pacific Island nations, which span 40 million sq km of ocean, from forming security ties with China, a rising concern amid tensions over Taiwan.
