Seastreak Ferry and Monmouth County are proceeding with changing NYC ferry service starting Dec. 5, despite a challenge form NY Waterway,

Seastreak and county officials announced Tuesday the service change will start in early December, when the Highland-based carrier takes the service over from New York Waterway.

“The new contract between the County and Seastreak will provide significantly more options to residents traveling to and from New York City,” Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone said in a statement provided to NJ Advance Media. To give commuters added flexibility, Seastreak will operate shuttle bus service between Belford and its Highland and Atlantic Highlands terminals, meaning that New Jersey-bound commuters can ride any of its ferries from New York and still get to where they parked, Barker said.
