SPCA had received several reports of the case and escalated them to the Animal & Veterinary Service – which is within NParks – for further action.The National Parks Board is looking into a case of a dog handler kicking a dog at Coney Island Park.
In response to queries by The Straits Times, Ms Jessica Kwok, NParks’ group director of enforcement and investigation, said the organisation had received feedback on the incident and was looking into it. The agency responded to the video via stories on their Instagram page and revealed that the dog was a shiba inu named Stormi, which belonged to the business owner herself.
She acknowledged handling the situation “poorly”, and said she acted out of concern that her dog would have to visit the vet if it ate a poisonous fruit or other things off the floor.
