A new country song titled “Rich Men North of Richmond” is taking the right-wing spotlight away from Jason Aldean’s controversial “Try That in a Small Town.”
The title of the song seemingly refers to politicians in Washington, D.C., who Anthony claims want to suck Americans dry and “have total control.” “God, if you’re 5-foot-3 and you’re 300 pounds, taxes ought not to pay for your bags of Fudge Rounds,” Anthony continues, appearing to slam the welfare system.
“It’s exactly how all of us are feeling!” said another. “God bless the hard-working, middle-class Americans, and God bless this great country!”
