Baseball is the greatest game ever invented. It was fine the way it was. I don’t think the National League needs the designated hitter . I do not like interleague play, as there is little mystery left once the league winners reach the World Series. I like the idea of a pitch clock, but will it ever be enforced?
Yeah to the universal designated hitter. Removal of the automatic out will liven up the game, add offense and save the pitchers to maybe go five or six innings. LOL.Nay to the shift allowing an infielder to play rover in the outfield. Unfair advantage to the defense. Nonetheless, here we are in 2022. What changes do I like and why? 1. Eliminating the hard slides into bases/home plate, because it reduces potential for fielder and base-runner injury, plus places controls on those players intentionally seeking to injure an opponent . 2. Placing a cap on mound visits speeds up the game, doesn’t artificially influence momentum and focuses on the players’ on-field performance. 3.
3) These days a good number of pitchers throw 100-plus miles per hour. Let’s move the pitcher’s mound back 12 inches.5) A line should be drawn 6 feet from first base. If the pitcher throws over to first, a balk would be called if the runner has at least one foot to the left of that line. Spring training is in full force and the season opener is next week. Am I as rabid a fan as I was 50 years ago? No. I still follow the game but more out of respect for tradition than the excitement I used to have in my youth. What has changed? A lot has changed.
