But many people already have antibodies against Ad5, which could cause the immune system to attack the vector instead of responding to the coronavirus, making these vaccines less effective. "I think they will get good immunity in people that don't have antibodies to the vaccine, but a lot of people do," said Dr Hildegund Ertl, director of the Wistar Institute Vaccine Center in Philadelphia.
