Prime Minister Scott Morrison was escorted by security guards from a Brisbane university campus today after being ambushed by a group of protesters. 9News
Mr Morrison was trapped inside a University of Queensland building this morning after refugees protesters slinging red paint and tomatoes ambushed him.
About 50 protesters assembled at the university's institute of bio-engineering and nanotechnology during the prime minister's visit. Prime Minister Scott Morrison was briefly trapped inside a university building during the demonstration. Police officers formed a barrier outside the building entrance where refugee activists carrying red paint and tomatoes were chanting "lock up ScoMo" and "free the refugees".
Mr Morrison's motorcade was vandalised and he was stuck inside the building while security worked out an exit plan.After being taken from the building, surrounded by guards, Mr Morrison was transported from the campus in a police paddy wagon — the only option not located near to the protest group.
