SINGAPORE: Team Singapore's lawn bowlers have picked up a silver and a bronze at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, doubling the country's medal tally at the event.
In women's singles B6 action at the Hangzhou Wenhui School Lawn Bowls Green on Wednesday , Faridah Salleh secured a place in the gold medal match with a 21-10 semi-final win over India's Anju Bala.
She could not get the better of Somwang Chamnanpana of Thailand in the decider, however, and had to settle for silver after a 21-7 loss. In the men's singles B7, meanwhile, Khirmern Mohamad rebounded from his 16-12 semi-final loss to Choochat Sukjarern of Thailand to beat South Korea's Song Myeungjun 17-11 and take the bronze.On Wednesday, the Singapore National Paralympic Council also announced that shooter Daniel Chan had booked himself a place at next year's Paralympics in Paris.
