“How do I have faith that this is a wake-up call when another one is around the corner?” said Casey Murray, president of the 8,300-member Southwest Airlines Pilot Association.
“I want them to present a plan based in analytics and data. I want to see that plan and I want to see the timeline of that plan, and I want there to be accountability for that plan,” Murray said. “We need a global integration team to come in to address how they are going to handle software and operations and leadership.After the bad weather cleared but while Southwest was still canceling upwards of 74% of its flights on Dec.
Murray said union leaders have been left out of discussions about what went wrong. In Thursday’s video, Jordan said the company has asked unions to participate in the review.
“They’ve grown too big to not be willing to look at the way that other people run their businesses,” Britton said. “Southwest needs to be transparent with a short-term plan.”
