A diner was left disgusted after witnessing a staff member at Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice at VivoCity allegedly reuse a customer’s spoon to scrape food stains off the floor before placing it in the return tray.
said he and his friend were halfway through their dinner on Nov 6 when the incident occurred between 8.40 pm and 9.10 pm.He also expressed concerns over food safety and reported the incident to the Singapore Food Agency .
In response to a Stomp query, the SFA confirmed they had inspected the food establishment and did not detect any food safety lapses during the inspection. "Nonetheless, the food operator was reminded to ensure that their premises is clean and well-maintained, and their food handlers adhere to good food safety practices," an SFA spokesperson said."While SFA puts in place and enforces the regulatory measures, food operators must play their part by adhering to good food hygiene and preparation practices.
SFA added that it takes a serious view towards food safety and will investigate all feedback alleging poor food safety practices.
