Work reporting requirements are unnecessary, harmful and ultimately counter to the goals of the Medicaid program. Here’s why.

Thomas Waldrop is a healthcare policy fellow at The Century Foundation where he focuses on healthcare coverage, access and affordability of healthcare and health equity. Prior to joining TCF, Waldrop served as a policy analyst for health policy at the Center for American Progress , where he focused on prescription drug pricing and health coverage expansion. Before CAP, he worked at Stateside Associates, monitoring state-level healthcare legislation on a variety of issues.

Kim Knackstedt is a senior fellow and director of The Century Foundation’s Disability Economic Justice Collaborative, where her work focuses on economic justice for people with disabilities and their families. She previously has served in disability policy positions in Congress and the White House. She brings experience as a classroom teacher of students with disabilities and as a person with chronic illness to her policy perspectives. In 2016, Knackstedt was the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr.

Rebecca Vallas is a senior fellow at The Century Foundation, where her work focuses on achieving economic justice. In 2022, she launched TCF’s Disability Economic Justice team and cofounded the Disability Economic Justice Collaborative, which brings together more than 40 leading organizations across the disability rights and justice and economic policy sectors to work collaboratively to bring a disability lens across all economic policymaking in the United States.
