It was distressed and pleated like a cheerleader uniform and it had a raw hem whose fray invited my grandpa to remark disapprovingly, "I hope you didn't pay full price for that.
While I'm not necessarily looking to invest in denim cheerleader pleats again, I am absolutely ready to make the denim skirt a personal wardrobe staple. I recently picked up an upcycled version made entirely of old jeans waistbands from a thrift store that I'm obsessed with, but I'd also be happy with a more minimal, streamlined version like this one from vintage Levi's upcycling label Re/Done.
