Henry Cavill was once in the running to become James Bond but lost out to Daniel Craig, and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell now reveals the real reason why the former Superman actor didn't get the part. Before Craig earned the coveted role, Cavill was one of a number of actors who was confirmed to have been in the running to replace Pierce Brosnan, who said farewell to the franchise with Die Another Day.
“He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel didn’t exist Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape… very handsome, very chiselled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.”
