ANAHEIM, Calif. — Astros outfielder Chas McCormick, who returned to the Astros two days ago after missing three weeks with back soreness, was out Wednesday after a recurrence of the ailment. “Chas is sore again,” manager Dusty Baker said before the series finale against the Angels. “He overdid it in . He came here and took a couple bad swings.”
McCormick was activated Monday after a rehab stint with Corpus Christi and had said he was “healthy now, 100 percent and ready to go.” He went 0-for-4 in Monday’s loss and was not in the lineup Tuesday. Jake Meyers got the start in center for the second straight game Wednesday.
